Commonwealth Radiology Associates Physicians Recognized in Boston Magazine’s 2026 Top Doctors List
Each year, Boston Magazine recognizes the region’s leading physicians in its Top Doctors list. We’re pleased to announce that three Commonwealth Radiology Associates physicians have earned a spot on Boston Magazine’s Top Doctors list for 2026.
Dr. Allan Hoffman, MD – Vascular & Interventional Radiology
Dr. Hoffman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular and interventional radiologist with more than 20 years of experience. He currently serves as President of Commonwealth Radiology Holdings and Commonwealth Radiology Associates.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hoffman has held numerous leadership roles, including Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at both Lowell General Hospital and North Shore Medical Center, as well as Medical Director for multiple vascular centers and laboratories. He is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology, a prestigious honor recognizing significant professional achievement and contributions to the field.
This marks Dr. Hoffman’s fourth consecutive year being named a Boston Magazine Top Doctor (2023–2026). In addition, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, has authored numerous publications, and has presented extensively at scientific conferences.
Dr. Gregg Franco, MD – Diagnostic Radiology
Dr. Franco is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Vascular and Interventional Radiologist with more than 13 years of experience. He completed his residency at Boston Medical Center and his Interventional Radiology fellowship at Emory University. He currently serves as Section Chief of Interventional Radiology at Lowell General Hospital and Interim Chief at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. Previously, he served as Chief of Interventional Oncology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Franco has introduced numerous advanced procedures to the hospitals he serves, including locoregional cancer treatments such as radioembolization and chemoembolization, basivertebral ablation for low back pain, and advanced management of portal hypertension (TIPS). He also founded and continues to lead the Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) Conference, a multidisciplinary forum dedicated to the collaborative management of complex cancer cases.
In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Franco serves on the Leadership Committee at Lowell General Hospital and participates in two national committees for the Society of Interventional Radiology. He was recently honored with the Lowell General Hospital Outstanding Interdisciplinary Collaboration Award and holds academic appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor at multiple regional programs.
Dr. Anna Rives, MD – Diagnostic Radiology
Dr. Rives joined CRA in 2023 and brings special expertise in breast imaging and interventions, making a meaningful impact on patient care and clinical excellence.
